Connexin mimetic peptide 40,37GAP26 is a peptide composed of 13 amino acids. Connexin mimetic peptide 40,37GAP26 corresponds to the GAP26 domain of the extracellular loop of major vascular junction proteins (Cx37, Cx40), designated as 37,40Cap 26 based on Cx homology. Connexin mimetic peptide 40,37GAP26 was used to investigate the role of gap junctions in endothelial hyperpolarization diffusion induced by cyclic pyrazine acid (CPA) passing through the iliac artery wall of rodents. The gap junction plaques constructed by Cx37 and Cx40 are abundant in endothelial cells. Connexin mimetic peptide 40,37GAP26 has inhibitory effects on subendothelial hyperpolarization.
