Cotadutide acetate is a potent dual peptide agonist targeting both glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucagon receptors, consisting of 31 amino acids in its sequence. The N-terminus of the peptide is blocked by palmitic acid, and its structure contains a cyclic configuration formed by an amide bond. The EC50 values are 6.9 pM and 10.2 pM, respectively. Cotadutide acetate possesses the ability to promote weight loss and regulate blood glucose, showing potential for research in obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D).
