S-2238 is a chromogenic substrate polypeptide containing three amino acids in its sequence, formed after the N-terminal portion of thrombin's natural substrate fibrinogen α-chain. S-2238 exhibits specificity for thrombin and is used to measure antithrombin III (AT-III). The AT-III analysis conducted using S-2238 is sensitive, accurate, and easy to perform.
