BMP2 derived peptide is an osteogenic inducer and BMP receptor ligand peptide, composed of 20 amino acids. BMP2 derived peptide forms a complex by binding to BMP receptors on the cell surface, activating downstream Smad signaling pathways and regulating the expression of osteogenic transcription factors. BMP2 derived peptide can effectively promote the adhesion, proliferation, osteogenic differentiation, and mineralization of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, significantly upregulate the mRNA levels of OCN, Runx2, and type I collagen, and enhance alkaline phosphatase activity and calcium deposition. BMP2 derived peptide can induce osteoblast differentiation and ectopic bone regeneration, improving skull bone defect repair. BMP2 derived peptide can enhance the cellular compatibility of mesoporous silica nanoparticles, synergistically improve osteogenic activity with Dexamethasone (HY-14648), and achieve sustained release for up to 90 days from CS-P24/HA scaffolds, making it an important tool for bone defect repair research.
