TAT-Gap19(I130A) is a control peptide of TAT-Gap19, which is a selective connexin 43 (Cx43) hemichannel inhibitor peptide composed of 20 amino acids. TAT-Gap19(I130A) shares the same amino acid sequence as TAT-Gap19 but substitutes the key residue site I130A in TAT-Gap19. In glioma cells expressing connexin 43 (Cx43), TAT-Gap19(I130A) does not inhibit [Ca2+]i-triggered ATP release at a concentration of 200 μM. TAT-Gap19(I130A) possesses cell-penetrating properties.
