RP-182 is a synthetic immunomodulatory peptide composed of 10 amino acids that exerts antitumor effects by targeting the mannose receptor CD206 on the surface of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) (Kd = 8 μM). RP-182 induces conformational changes in the CD206 receptor, thereby activating NF-κB signaling and phagocytosis in TAMs highly expressing CD206. RP-182 has dual functions: activating the classical NF-κB signaling pathway, triggering TNFα secretion and autocrine activation of the TNF receptor 1 (TNFR1), leading to caspase 8 activation and apoptosis. RP-182 is used in research on pancreatic cancer and melanoma.
