用途
本品是性能优良的有机溶剂，由于具有溶解速度快，对树脂表面和内部的渗透扩散性好等特征而得到广泛的应用。在格式反应、聚合反应、LiAlH4还原缩合反应、酯化反应中用作溶剂。对聚氯乙烯、聚偏氯乙烯及其共聚物的溶解，可得到低黏度的溶液，常用于表面涂料，保护性涂料，胶黏剂和薄膜的制造。也用于油墨、脱漆剂、萃取剂、人造革表面处理等方面。本品自聚及共聚，可以制造聚醚型聚氨酯弹性体，其特点是高回弹性能。本品是重要的化工原料，可以制备丁二烯、锦纶、聚丁二醇醚、γ-丁内酯、聚乙烯吡咯烷酮、四氢噻吩等。本品也是药物等有机合成的中间体。四氢呋喃是一种重要的有机合成原料和优良的溶剂，四氢呋喃对许多有机物有良好的溶解性，它能溶解除聚乙烯、聚丙烯及氟树脂以外的所有有机化合物，特别是对聚氯乙烯、聚偏氯乙烯和丁苯胺有良好的溶解作用，被广泛用作反应性溶剂。作为常用溶剂，四氢呋喃已普遍用于表面涂料、保护性涂料、油墨、萃取剂和人造革的表面处理。四氢呋喃是生产聚四亚甲基醚二醇(PTMEEG)重要原料，也是制药行业的主要溶剂。用作天然和合成树脂（特别是乙烯基树脂）的溶剂，也用于制丁二烯、己二腈、己二酸、己二胺等。用作溶剂、化学合成中间体、分析试剂。
