Calcium malate is an excellent food calcium fortifier. Examples of its applications are as follows: 1) Preparation of eggshell calcium malate chewable tablets: Eggshells are naturally dried, crushed, sieved, acidified, and water-treated under a high-voltage pulsed electric field. The chewable tablet components include eggshell calcium malate powder, dextrin, starch, xylitol, malic acid, citric acid, magnesium stearate, sodium isovitamin, and fresh milk flavoring. 2) Preparation of a novel tofu coagulant, formulated from sodium malate, calcium malate, sodium succinate, calcium acetate, sodium tartrate, calcium lactate, and magnesium citrate. 3) Preparation of a premixed feed to improve bone density and eggshell quality in laying hens. |
