Deslanoside is a white crystalline powder; odourless, with a bitter taste; hygroscopic. It is slightly soluble in methanol, very slightly soluble in ethanol, and practically insoluble in water or chloroform. | [Biological Activity]
Deslanoside is a cardiac glycoside that has been found in D. lanata.[1] It induces ventricular tachycardia in anesthetized dogs when administered intravenously at a dose of 0.18 mg/kg.[2] Formulations containing deslanoside have been used in the treatment of congestive heart failure and cardiac arrythmias. | [References]
