Acid-PEG4-S-PEG4-acid contains two terminal carboxylic acid groups. The carboxylic acid groups can react with primary amines in the presence of activators such as EDC and HATU to form stable amide bonds. The hydrophilic PEG chains increase the water solubility of the compound in aqueous media.

Acid-PEG4-S-PEG4-acid is a PEG-based PROTAC linker that can be used in the synthesis of PROTACs[1].
