Cyclododeca-1,5,9-triene is used in the production of flame retardants (refractory additives), nylon intermediates, synthetic rubber, flavorings, and fragrances. Cyclododecane can be produced from cyclododecane, which is a raw material for new engineering plastics such as polyamide (nylon-12, nylon-612, and nylon-1012).
