2-Methoxybenzoic acid ethyl ester is used in perfumery for its heavy-floral and warm effects in Hyacinth, Cananga, Ylang-Ylan, Orange blossom, Wistaria and many other floral complexes. It creates interesting complexes with Coumarin derivatives.
