General procedure for the synthesis of 2-amino-4,5-difluorobenzoic acid from 4,5-difluoro-2-nitrobenzoic acid: 4,5-difluoro-2-nitrobenzoic acid (447 mg, 2.2 mmol) was added to a suspension of methanol (10 mL) containing 20% palladium/carbon hydroxide [50% (w/w) wet type, 40 mg]. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours under hydrogen atmosphere. Upon completion of the reaction, the catalyst was removed by diatomaceous earth filtration and the filtrate was concentrated to afford 2-amino-4,5-difluorobenzoic acid (380 mg, yield: 100%). | [References]
