GENERAL PROCEDURE: Methyl indole-6-carboxylate (5 mmol) was slowly added to hydrazine hydrate (3 mL) at room temperature. Subsequently, the reaction mixture was subjected to microwave irradiation at 300 W power for 5-8 min. The reaction process was monitored in real time by thin layer chromatography (TLC). After the reaction was complete, the mixture was cooled to room temperature and the intermediate 1H-indole-6-carboxylic acid hydrazine was precipitated in 83-98% yield.
