Synthesis of L-cysteine ethyl ester hydrochloride: L-cysteine (24.20 g, 0.20 mol) and 300 mL of ethanol were placed in a 500 mL round-bottom flask. Thionyl chloride (22 mL, 0.30 mol) was slowly added dropwise under ice-water bath conditions. After the addition was complete, the reaction was continued at room temperature for 3 h, followed by reflux for 12 h. The reaction solution was cooled to room temperature, and the solvent was evaporated to obtain 36.42 g of white powder, with a yield of 98.1%. |
