Chemische Eigenschaften
Lemon-yellow crystals or powder; mild
saline taste.
Effloresces on exposure to air; soluble in water;
insoluble in alcohol.
Verwenden
Potassium cyanide and ferricyanide, dry colors,
tempering steel, dyeing, explosives, process engrav-
ing and lithography, laboratory reagent.
Vorbereitung Methode
Potassium ferrocyanide is used as a chemical reagent, in
metallurgy, and in graphic arts.
Hazard
It evolves highly toxic fumes on heating to
red heat, but the compound itself has low toxicity.
Sicherheitsprofil
Mildly toxic by ingestion. An experimental teratogen. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NOx.
