Tazanolast Chemical Properties, Uses, Production

Description

Tazanolast is an orally active antiallergic agent useful in the treatment of bronchial asthma and nasal allergy. Mechanistically it appears to inhibit IgG and IgE-mediated antigen-antibody reactions.

Chemical Properties

White or yellowish-white crystal or crystalline powder, slightly odor, bitter taste. Soluble in acetone, soluble in methanol, ethanol or acetonitrile, insoluble in ether, insoluble in water. Acute toxicity LD50 male and female mice, male and female rats (mg/kg): >4000, >4000, >4000, >4000 orally; >4000, >4000, >4000, >4000 subcutaneously; 1145, 1191, 1423, 1528 intraperitoneally; 1126, 1121, 1119, 1277 intravenously.
