Uses

ACID BLUE 161, PURE is used for dyeing wool, silk, tussah silk, nylon, vinylon, and blended fabrics such as vinylon/cotton and wool/viscose.

Preparation

4-Amino-3-hydroxynaphthalene-1-sulfonic acid diazo, and Naphthalen-2-ol coupling, and then in water solution its product (C.I. Mordant Black 17, C.I. 15705) and formic acid chromium common heating, in 130 ℃ keep 3 hours, to form the chrome complex.

Properties and Applications

dark blue. Soluble in water (a red light blue), soluble in ethanol. In strong sulfuric acid is blue, it will be diluted precipitation is blue. Its water solution meet strong hydrochloric acid is blue precipitation; Add sodium hydroxide is red light purple. Used for wool and silk dyeing and printing, also can be used for leather dyeing.
