Production Methods
Strobane is commercially produced by chlorinating terpene hydrocarbons such as pinene or camphene under controlled conditions using elemental chlorine. The process involves passing chlorine gas through the terpene feedstock in a reaction vessel, typically in the presence of ultraviolet light or heat to initiate free-radical chlorination. This results in a complex mixture of chlorinated terpene compounds, collectively known as strobane. The reaction is carefully monitored to achieve the desired degree of chlorination and product consistency.

Non-systemic with contact action. Acts on the neurons, causing an imbalance in sodium and potassium ions
