Uses

Allosamidin is a chitinase inhibitor that is a signal molecule for chitinase production. It promotes atherosclerosis in hyperlipidemic mice. It is a glycoside antibiotic.

in vivo

Injection of Allosamidin (10 μg per larva) to the Bombyx mori peneltimate instar larvae of the silkworm prevents larval ecdysis to the next stage and leads to death^[1].
