Repirinast Chemical Properties, Uses, Production
Description
Repirinast is an orally-active antiallergic agent useful in the treatment of allergic asthma. Its activity is reportedly attributed to a metabolite, the corresponding free acid (MY-1250), which is 17 times more potent than disodium cromoglycate in inhibiting histamine release due to antigen-antibody reactions.
Chemical Properties
Crystallized from chloroform-hexane, melting point 236-241°C. Acute toxicity LD50 in mice, rats, rabbits and dogs (mg/kg): >5000 oral.
