Glycyrrhetic acid 3-O-glucuronide Chemical Properties, Uses, Production
Preparation
The difficult preparation process of GAMG limits its application. Therefore, independently screening new microbial strains capable of specifically hydrolyzing GL to produce GAMG is of great significance. Through ambient pressure room temperature plasma (ARTP) mutagenesis, an effective strain of *Cyanobacterium* capable of hydrolyzing GL to produce GAMG was screened, with high yield and virtually no byproduct formation. This not only provides a new direction for the industrial production of GAMG but also simplifies the process and reduces production costs, offering new ideas for subsequent scale-up experiments and commercial production, and laying a solid foundation for the future application of GAMG in food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries.

ChEBI: Glycyrrhetic acid 3-O-glucuronide is a triterpenoid saponin that is the 3-O-beta-glucuronide of glycyrrhetic acid. It is a metabolite of glycyrrhizin contained in licorice and potentially a causative agent in the pathogenesis of pseudoaldosteronism. It has a role as an anti-allergic agent, a sweetening agent, an EC 1.1.1.146 (11beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase) inhibitor, a human xenobiotic metabolite and a plant metabolite. It is a monosaccharide derivative, a beta-D-glucosiduronic acid, a triterpenoid saponin, a pentacyclic triterpenoid, an oxo dicarboxylic acid and an enone. It is functionally related to a glycyrrhetinic acid.
