Synthesis
Add 90g (1mol) of 3-methoxy-1-propanol, 5g of tetramethylammonium chloride, and 200ml of cyclohexane to a 500ml four-necked flask equipped with a thermometer and a dropping funnel; maintain the reaction temperature at 65-70℃, and slowly add 130.9g (1.1mol) of thionyl chloride while stirring. The addition is completed in about 3 hours. After the waste acid tail gas is discharged, it is absorbed by alkaline water. After the addition is completed, keep the temperature warm and stir for another 2 hours. The mixture was cooled to room temperature, and the organic phase was washed with 100 ml of water, 50 ml of saturated sodium bicarbonate, and 50 ml of water, respectively. After recovering the solvent cyclohexane under reduced pressure, the fraction collected at 103–106 °C was distilled to yield 106 g of the product 3-methoxy-1-chloropropane. The gas chromatography purity was 99%, and the yield was 97.7%.
