Uses
LY 231617 is an antioxidant and is able to prevent ischaemia-induced neurodegeneration. LY 231617 is a neuroprotective and an anti-ischaemic agent.
in vivo
LY231617 (50 mg/kg; p.o. 30 minutes before occlusion) reduces global ischemic neuronal injury in rats[2]. LY231617 (20 mg/kg; i.v. 30 minutes after occlusion) protects hippocampus and striatum from four-vessel occlusion[2].
