Chemical Properties
long, white needles; body-centered tetr crystal(s); very sensitive to moisture; discolors quickly in moist air; can be formed by fluorinating BiF3 or Bi metal at 120°C; used as a fluorinating agent [KIR78] [MER06]
Physical properties
White crystals, highly sensitive to moisture. In humid air immediately turns yellow-brown. Reacts with water, sometimes with ignition, forming ozone and BiF3. Reacts with kerosene above 50°C. Subl. t. appr. 550°C.

Fluorinating agent.
