Forsythoside H Chemical Properties,Uses,Production
Description
Forsythoside H is an active ingredient extracted from Fructus Forsythiae, a plant of the genus Oleaceae.
Uses
In recent years, with the in-depth research on the active ingredients of Forsythia, it was found that Forsythoside H has antibacterial activity.
Biological Activity
Forsythoside H, a caffeoside (CPG) isolated from Forsythia suspense (Thunb.) Vahl, may have anti-inflammatory properties.
Synthesis
Forsythoside H is isolated from the total extract of a specific herbal combination. Steps: 1) The total extract is separated on AB-8 macroporous resin. The 30% ethanol eluate is collected and concentrated. 2) This extract is separated by medium-pressure preparative liquid chromatography (ODS column) using methanol at different ratios. Multiple fractions are collected. 3) A specific fraction (10%-1) is further separated by HPLC. Chromatographic peaks are collected based on retention times, yielding 18 compounds including forsythoside H.
