3,7-Dimethyl-2,6-octadienenitrile is a substituted terpenoid odorant with a fruity odor quality. It is one of the most potent cyclase stimulators. ,7-Dimethyl-2,6-octadienenitrile was employed as odorant in the pharmacological analysis of olfactory generator currents induced by IP3-odors.
