Description

8-Methoxymethyl-IBMX has been reported to be a selective and potent inhibitor of calmodulin-stimulated PDE (phosphodiesterase). 8-Methoxymethyl-IBMX causes an increase in cGMP but not cAMP, prolonging signal transduction for cGMP-dependent pathways. Experiments performed on catheterized rabbits with acute pulmonary hypertension show that the compound may cause a decrease in pulmonary artery pressure by causing vasodilation.
