Description
Oxcarbazepine was developed by structural variation of carbamazepine for use as an anticonvulsant and mood stabilizing therapeutic for neuropathic pain, epilepsy, and affective disorders. In humans, oxcarbazepine is rapidly converted to an active metabolite, 10-hydroxycarbazepine, which then functions to inhibit both voltage-dependent sodium and voltage-dependent calcium channels, while potentiating voltage-dependent potassium channels. Oxcarbazepine also antagonizes adenosine A1 receptors, stimulates dopaminergic transmission, and inhibits glutamate release.More related product prices
