acaterin Usage And Synthesis
DescriptionAcaterin is an inhibitor of acyl-CoA: cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT). It inhibits synthesis of cholesteryl ester in macrophage J774.
UsesAcaterin is a compound isolated from Pseudomonas. Its biosynthetic gene cluster has been identified, and related studies have proposed its biosynthetic pathway. Comparative transcriptomics has shown that its formation is related to the bacterial regulatory network.
