| Uses | Triisopropylsilane could be used as reductant for variety of reactions; for silylation of heteroarenes and silylation of aldehyde and olefins; and in cross-coupling reactions with olefins, alkynes, alcohols, and oximes. | | Preparation | Triisopropylsilane can be prepared by reducing chlorotriisopropylsilane or by reducing triisopropylmethoxysilane using lithium aluminum hydride or DIBAL-H. The reduction of triisopropylmethoxysilane using sodium borohydride also forms triisopropylsilane in 32% yield. |
