| | Potassium stannate Usage And Synthesis |
| Chemical Properties | white to light tan crystal(s); used to dye and print textiles, in alkaline tin plating baths; anhydrous available as -100mesh with 99.9% purity [HAW93] [CER91] | | Uses | Potassium stannate is mainly used in potassium stannate tin plating (especially in electronics, automobile manufacturing, and canned food containers) and the textile printing and dyeing industry, as well as in the glass and ceramics industries. In the electroplating industry, potassium stannate serves as a next-generation fine chemical product, primarily used to replace silver with tin and nickel with tin-copper alloy plating. This not only reduces production costs but also, by replacing sodium salts with potassium salts, produces higher cathode efficiency and conductivity, improving the surface brightness, adhesion, and corrosion resistance of the plated parts. Examples include its use in automobile manufacturing, the electronics industry, canned food containers, and the plating of banknotes and other items. In the printing and dyeing industry, it can also be used as a mordant; in the textile industry, as a weighting agent; and it has wide applications in the glass and ceramics industries and high-grade decorative materials. |
