| Description | Nω-Propyl-L-Arginine is a potent and selective inhibitor of neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS). Nω-Propyl-L-Arginine is a competitive inhibitor of bovine nNOS having a Ki value of 57 nM. The Ki values for eNOS (bovine) and iNOS (murine) are 8.5 and 180 μM, respectively. Nω-propyl-L-Arginine therefore exhibits 3,000-fold and 150-fold selectivity for the neuronal isoform versus the inducible (murine) and endothelial (bovine) isoforms of NOS, respectively. | | Chemical Properties | Off-White Solid | | Uses | Nω-Propyl-L-Arginine is a neuronal selective nitric oxide synthase inhibitor (1) and a highly selective competitive inhibitor and inactivator of all three isoforms of NOS (2,3). | | Uses | A highly selective competitive inhibitor and inactivator of all three isoforms of NOS. | | Biological Activity | Highly selective and potent inhibitor of nNOS (K i = 57 nM). Displays 3158-fold and 149-fold selectivity over iNOS and eNOS respectively. Hypotensive in vivo . | | storage | room temperature (desiccate) | | References | [1] HENRY Q. ZHANG.
