| Synthesis | The general procedure for the synthesis of 2-fluoro-5-methoxybenzonitrile from the compound (CAS: 796120-91-7) was as follows: 15 g of 2-fluoro-5-methoxybenzaldehyde oxime was dissolved in 150 mL of tetrahydrofuran, followed by the addition of 40 g of trifluoroacetic anhydride. 20 mL of triethylamine was slowly added under stirring. Upon completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was concentrated to remove the solvent. Water was added to the concentrate and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phase was separated, dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, and then concentrated to obtain the crude product.
