Uses2-(3-Pyridyl)-4-methyl-thiazole-5-carboxylic acid is a synthetic intermediate useful for pharmaceutical synthesis.
Synthesis1. Synthesis of ethyl 2-bromo-4-methylthiazole-5-carboxylate: Ethyl 2-amino-4-methylthiazole-5-carboxylate is diazotized and brominated (with CuBr).
2. Synthesis of target product: The bromo compound from step 1 undergoes Suzuki coupling with pyridine-3-boronic acid pinacol ester in the presence of Pd catalysts (XPhos-Pd-G2, XPhos).
