Fluoromethylphenylsulfide can be prepared by reaction of methyl phenyl sulfoxide with N,N-Diethylaminosulfur Trifluoride (F3SNEt2, DAST) (fig 2), or with DAST and Antimony(III) Chloride (fig 3).
