| Synthesis | General procedure for the synthesis of ethyl 5-amino-4-phenylisoxazole-3-carboxylate from the compound (CAS: 1134-71-0): phenylpropyl derivative 1 (12 mmol), hydroxylamine hydrochloride (1.66 g, 24 mmol) and 70 mL of ethanol were mixed and heated and refluxed for 12 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the ethanol was removed by distillation under reduced pressure. Subsequently, 50 mL of ethyl acetate and 10 mL of 10% sodium carbonate solution were added to the residue and mixed thoroughly to separate the organic phase. The organic phase was washed with saturated sodium chloride solution and dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate. Finally, the ethyl acetate was removed by evaporation under reduced pressure to give 2.48 g of white powdery solid product in 89.11% yield. | | References | [1] Patent: CN105777661, 2016, A.
