However, based on its chemical structure and related acetanilide herbicides, the production generally involves condensation and acylation steps. The process would typically start with 2,6-diethylaniline, which is first reacted with chloroacetyl chloride to form 2-chloro-N-(2,6-diethylphenyl)acetamide.
