Application4-Amino-1,2,2,6,6-pentamethylpiperidine is a pharmaceutical intermediate that can be prepared from 1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidinone hydroiodide as a raw material. Then, the oxime is reduced to obtain 4-amino-1,2,2,6,6-pentamethylpiperidine.
Chemical Propertiesclear colorless to pale yellow liquid
Synthesis1. 1,2,2,6,6-Pentamethyl-4-piperidone hydroiodide reacts with hydroxylamine hydrochloride to give the corresponding ketoxime.
2. The ketoxime is reduced with lithium aluminum hydride (LiAlH) in tetrahydrofuran to yield 4-amino-1,2,2,6,6-pentamethylpiperidine.
