| Synthesis | GENERAL STEPS: 4-Aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid (5.0 g, 34.92 mmol) was dissolved in ethanol (20 mL) and cooled to 0 °C. Thionyl chloride (7.60 mL, 104.76 mmol) was slowly added dropwise with stirring. After the dropwise addition, the reaction mixture was heated to 80 °C and maintained for 2-3 hours. The reaction process was monitored by thin layer chromatography (TLC).
