| | Phenol, 4-bromo-3-ethyl- Usage And Synthesis |
| Synthesis | Under ice bath cooling at 0°C, 7.33 g of 3-ethylphenol was dissolved in 600 mL of chloroform, followed by the addition of 10.7 g of N-bromosuccinimide. The reaction mixture was gradually warmed to room temperature and stirred continuously for 2 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the solvent was removed by concentration under reduced pressure. The resulting crude product was purified by silica gel column chromatography to give 7.25 g of 4-bromo-3-ethylphenol (named 45A). | | References | [1] Patent: WO2011/34828, 2011, A1.
