| Uses | Plant growth retardant. | | Production Methods | Commercial production of fluoridamid is not available in open literature. Its structure, however, as a trifluoromethylsulfonylated acetanilide, allows a reliable reconstruction of the type of chemistry industry would have used. Commercial production would have centred on first preparing the 4 methyl 3 aminophenyl intermediate, then introducing the trifluoromethylsulfonyl group via reaction with a trifluoromethanesulfonylating reagent, a standard route for aryl sulfonamides. The resulting sulfonamide would then be acetylated to form the final acetanilide structure.
