Dimethyl carbate Usage And Synthesis
Chemical PropertiesMosquito repellent pure product is colorless crystal or colorless oily liquid, melting point 38 ℃. Industrial product melting point is 32 ℃; boiling point 110 ℃ (15mmHg), 129 ~ 130 ℃ ( 9mmHg); relative density 1.1642 (25 ℃), 1.1637 (35 ℃), solubility in water (35 ℃) 1.32g/100mL, soluble in methanol, ethanol, benzene, xylene and other organic solvents, soluble in esters.
UsesDimethyl carbate (DMC) is a green and multi-functional solvent that can be used as a solvent in lithium-ion batteries. Methylating agents in organic synthesis; It is also used in the production of polycarbonate, lubricants, polyurethane, cleaning and degreasing solvents, building materials such as paints and adhesives, fuel additives, and biodiesel production, etc. In addition, it can also be used as an insect repellant.
Definition ChEBI: Dimethylcarbate is a dicarboxylic acid.
Synthesis5-Norbornene-exo-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride (exo-NDA), widely used in the synthesis of medicine and pesticide, was primarily obtained through the subsequent thermal isomerization of 5-norbornene-endo-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride (endo-NDA) synthesized from cyclopentadiene (CPD) and maleic anhydride (MAH).[1]
