Usesdicadmium selenide sulphide is widely used in industries such as enamel, ceramics, glass, coatings, plastics, art pigments, printing inks, papermaking, leather, colored sand and gravel building materials, and electronic materials. When used in polymers, cadmium-based pigments should be used in systems with low water absorption, as water permeability in the medium will reduce the pigment's weather resistance. The presence of titanium dioxide will also reduce the pigment's lightfastness. dicadmium selenide sulphide has better durability than cadmium yellow and is suitable for coloring outdoor products, such as automotive paints and high-grade baking varnishes. dicadmium selenide sulphide has a lower natural hardness than other inorganic pigments and good friction properties, making it suitable for use in photogravure printing inks and PVC screen printing inks. Except for mercury-based dicadmium selenide sulphide, which is unsuitable for polycarbonate, dicadmium selenide sulphide is suitable for almost all resins and plastics, such as ABS plastics, polyoxymethylene, acrylic, amino, fluoroplastics, nylon, polyamide, polycarbonate, low-density or high-density polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, soft or rigid PVC, phenolic, urea-melamine, epoxy, polyurethane, unsaturated polyester, plexiglass, natural rubber, and silicone rubber.
