| | 1,3-Propanediol, 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)-, allyl ether Usage And Synthesis |
| Uses | Due to the presence of active groups such as ether groups, olefin bonds, and hydroxyl groups, pentaerythritol allyl ethers are often used as chain extenders in the synthesis of polymers such as superabsorbent resins, thickeners, unsaturated polyesters, polyurethane resins, epoxy resins, and UV-curable resins, while also imparting self-drying properties to the polymers. Industrially, mixtures of pentaerythritol allyl ethers, primarily composed of pentaerythritol triallyl ether, are commonly used, with the most common mixtures having a pentaerythritol triallyl ether content between 70% and 90% by mass. |
