Chemical PropertiesAmber-colored liquid; slightly sweet odor. Soluble in carbon disulfide, benzene, chloroform, and gasoline; insoluble in water and 10% caustic. Combustible.
UsesTetra-n-butylthiuram Disulfide is a zinc ionophore used in the development and characterization of needle-type ion-selective microsensors. It can also be used as a starting material in the synthetic preparation of S-aryl dithiocarbamates.
