| Synthesis | General procedure for the synthesis of 4-(2-trifluoromethylphenyl)piperidine hydrochloride from 4-(2-trifluoromethylphenyl)piperidine:
Step D: 4-(2-Trifluoromethylphenyl)piperidine (4, 5.6 g, 24.5 mmol) was dissolved in acetonitrile (30 mL) and a 1,4-dioxane solution (6.1 mL, 24.5 mmol) of 4M HCl was added slowly at room temperature.
