| | 2-Bromo-4-(2-methyl-2-propanyl)-1-nitrobenzene Usage And Synthesis |
| Synthesis | A 50 ml triple-necked flask was charged with 20 mL of
95% concentrated sulfuric acid with magnetic stirring, cooled to below 0C in an ice bath added 1-bromo-3-(1,1-dimethylethyl)benzene, stirred until all dissolved and then continued stirring for 20 min, then 95% fuming nitric acid was added slowly dropwise over 1 hr. After the dropwise addition, the reaction was stirred at low temperature for 30 min, and the reaction solution was slowly poured into ice water with stirring. A white solid was precipitated. Filtered, the filter cake were washed with 5% sodium bicarbonate aqueous solution and water to neutral, the resulting solid was recrystallized with 80% ethanol / water solution, dried at 60 . TLC showed a single - point (Expanded: petroleum ether / ethyl acetate = 3: l, v / v). 2-bromo-4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-1 -nitrobenzene. |
