DIPHTHERIA TOXIN Usage And Synthesis
UsesDiphtheria Toxin, CRM Mutant is an agent that does not have NAD:EF2 ADP-ribosyltransferase activity.
UsesDiphtheria toxin may be used as a toxin element in the construction of immunotoxin for cell specific cytotoxicity. The translocation domain of bacterial toxins with natural endosome escape mechanism has been used in the development of efficient nonviral vectors for applications in gene therapy.
Biochem/physiol ActionsInhibits protein synthesis by catalyzing ADP-ribosylation of eukaryotic aminoacyltransferase II.
