Pigment Yellow 5 is a greenish yellow loose powder with bright color and melting point of 206℃. It is unstable in the presence of heat. Soluble in ethanol, acetone and benzene and other solvents, can get homogeneous heterocrystals. Light yellow in concentrated sulfuric acid, light yellow precipitate after dilution, dark yellow in 10% hot sodium hydroxide solution.
